I will never be able to ascertain exactly how the universe can shift overnight. It’s immense ability to be unfair, unruly and horrifying. The dichotomy between being asleep in my bed while my friends are trapped in a burning building just 10 blocks away. The Ghost Ship fire has taken so much from us, our loved ones, and Oakland’s proudest communities.
We’ve been tucked away working on a new record. It’s very close to finished. All of us have our hearts are inside of it. We were not planning to have anything surface from it for quite awhile, but there’s really no fucking way we are just going to sit here and do nothing in the wake of this truly saddening, horrific event that has put an arrow right through our hearts. We need to help our friends. We need to help our family. We will use our art to do so.
This is a new song from our second LP. It is called ‘Carcinogen’. It it available on our bandcamp for $8 - with your purchase of this song, you will receive a digital copy of our new record when it comes out in 2017. Promise.
Every single cent from your purchase will go to The Gray Area Fire Relief fund, the Resident Support fund (for those displaced who lived in the building), and the Trans Assistance Project until January 1st, 2017.
